OUR BACKGROUND
Taiwan Kawas Cultural Association was established in 2022, with the main purpose of promoting outdoor cultural and artistic activities. Through activities with a more artistic and cultural tone, it promotes outdoor sports, walks into nature, and experiences more of the beauty of life.
社團法人台灣嘉瓦士文化協會於2022年成立，以推廣戶外文化與藝文活動為主要宗旨，藉由較藝術文化基調的活動，推廣戶外運動，走入自然，體會更多生命的美好。

kawas widens your viewing horizons by selecting videos of outdoor adventures abroad. The "Taiwan Call for Applications" was also held to encourage local adventurers and video workers to have a chance to broadcast on the big screen. To promote Taiwan's local outdoor shooting activities.
kawas 精選國外戶外冒險的影片，藉此擴展觀看視野。並舉行「台灣徵件」鼓勵在地的冒險家兼影像工作者，能有一個大螢幕播映的機會。藉此推廣台灣本土的戶外拍攝活動。

The selection of films for the second festival expanded from self-challenge to concern for natural ecology. The film selection is a selection of mountaineering adventures, cross-country running, and humanitarian care from the VIMFF Vancouver Mountain Film Festival. It starts with "House of the Gods" and records the adventurous spirit of free climbing to the rock wall in the legendary realm of the gods for the first time. In "Rock Climbing as Resistance", a film selection from REEL ROCK 17, we witness rock climbing becoming a force for cohesion and change under the flames of war. The closing session "Repatriation: Saving the Ancestral Forest" turned the focus to forest conservation.
第二屆影展選片從自我挑戰範疇，擴大至對自然生態的關懷。選片擷取VIMFF溫哥華山岳影展中，登山冒險、越野跑、人道關懷的精選，以《眾神之家》作為開端，紀錄首次以自由攀登方式抵達傳說神之領域岩壁的冒險精神。 在 REEL ROCK 17選片的《攀岩作為抵抗》當中，共同見證攀岩成為戰火下凝聚與改變的力量。 而閉幕專場《遣返：拯救祖林》將焦點轉至對於森林保育的關注。
樹屋計畫
Tree House Project
At Nanzhuang Elementary School in Miaoli, the principal took the children from the carpentry club to build a dream tree house. Derived the theories from the textbooks into practical application skills. These things can be taken away in later life.
在苗栗南庄國小，校長帶著木工社的小朋友，建立一個夢想中的樹屋，將課本的理論衍生出實際應用的技能，這些東西在往後的人生才是帶得走的。
手作台北大縱走步道
Handmade for Taipei Grand Trail
On the hottest day of the solar terms, Kawas invited the Taiwan Thousand Miles Trail Association to co-organize a trail hand-made course, and it finally took place!
This time, the hand-made walking path is chosen as one of the Shuangxigou Ancient Trails in Taipei. Three small sections of the trail were selected and volunteers carried out trail maintenance.
在節氣的大暑之日，kawas請台灣千里步道協會協辦步道手作課程，終於成行！
這次的手作步道路選擇台北大縱走的其中一段雙溪溝古道。
這段位於圓覺瀑布與風櫃口涼亭的中間，千里步道挑選了三小段與志工們執行步道維護。

We hope that climbing beginners will have an easy-to-understand climbing guidebook, and it will be presented illustrations. With the aesthetic presentation, it can enhance the pleasure of reading.
There are many aspects and modes of mountaineering, and it is absolutely difficult for a book to let people understand the whole picture. But where you start from definitely is very important.
我們希望，讓登山新手有一本淺顯易懂的登山書籍，並以紙本書籍搭配插圖的方式演繹，藉由美感呈現，讓你更願意駐足閱讀。
登山有許多面向及模式， 一本小書絕對難讓人通盤了解全貌。
但從哪裡作為起點絕對是重要的。
